Fri 30th Aug @ 20.00 on Zoom – What We Do in the Second Week of October… The People’s Story of the Tour of Mull / Mull Rally

On Friday 30th of August at 20.00 there will be a special live online episode of the podcast called “What We Do In the Second Week of October” which will be a group discussion focussing on the Tour of Mull / Mull Rally.

The chat will be hosted by Duncan Brown, with assistance from Alasdair.

The themes we would like to explore are around the people involved – especially Mull folk and those that have become Mull folk.  Not so much focus on the sporting nor technical side, as we feel that is well covered by others.

We’ve identified a few topics to lead the discussion, but the idea is to have a free-flowing chat where participants feel comfortable:

•                Founding of the Rally 1969
•                Growing Local participation in the Rally 1970-1980s
•                People who moved to Mull because of the Rally
•                Transition of the rally organisation 2010
•                Young people who grew up with the Rally
•                Local competitors who went further afield
•                What is the future?
•                Then an open floor where any of the audience can share their memories of what the Rally means to them.

The session will be recorded, then an edited audio version will be released online as a podcast just before this October’s Rally.

The session will be held on Zoom. If you’d like to come along please click on our eventbrite link here.

We look forward to seeing you there!
