67 – Neil Jardine

This episode is a conversation with Neil Jardine of Iona, a fisherman who runs Iona Seafood, a fantastic local business selling to both the local and international markets.
We talk about Neil’s early life on Iona, his adventures away in Australia, the development of his working practice and how he balances his family and work lives.

This podcast was recorded both as a podcast and as research for the film Creel of Stories – Cliabh an t-Seanachais, which tells the story of fishing cultures in the Ross of Mull and Iona.

The film was produced by Celia Compton for South West Mull and Iona Development, SWMID, funded by Year of Stories from Visit Scotland.  Creel of Stories was filmed, directed and edited by myself, with music by Hannah Fisher and Sorren Maclean, and drone footage from Gordon Bruce. Creel of Stories can be found here.
